About the Blog
Second Thoughts is an appropriate way to describe this blog. It comes at a stage when one is engaged mostly in review. This keeps our engagement in the public sphere reflective of lessons learned, while keeping our focus current and our observations timely and topical.
Our capacity to receive and process information will never match the sheer volume produced by the minute through the channels of mass media and the internet, and the speed at which it is circulated. Perhaps, instead of speeding up, we should try instead to slow down, to select the events and issues that we should focus on and spend time to comprehend their significance. This is the course that this blog will take.
As the country responds to domestic and international developments, Second Thoughts offers reflections on Philippine politics and society in English and Pilipino.
